Give Back to the Yellowstone River Cleanup — August 20th

The epic flooding on the Yellowstone River this summer caused considerable damage, created a lasting impact on us all and unfortunately left a lot of detritus behind when the waters receded.

PCEC has been working with Trout Unlimited, Montana Freshwater Partners and Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation to organize a community clean up effort on the Yellowstone River after the historic flooding in June.

  • WHEN: Saturday, August 20th

  • TIME: Beginning at 9 a.m. Check in any time that morning.

  • WHERE: Sacajawea Park/Miles Park (next to the Civic Center)

Volunteers should gather at the Park the morning of the 20th, check in and disperse to stretches of the river throughout the Paradise Valley and in Livingston to clean up trash and debris.

Interested volunteers can sign up online here

All trash collected will be disposed of onsite back at Miles Park in dumpsters provided by the City of Livingston. Bags and gloves will be supplied during check in.

Starting at 5 p.m., back at the Miles Park band shell, there will be BBQ from the Chef’s Table food truck, beer from Neptune’s Brewing and music from the West of Wayland Band.

A big thank you to all the additional sponsors of the cleanup: Upper Yellowstone Watershed Group, Joe Brooks Chapter of Trout Unlimited, AFFTA Fisheries Fund, Ten and Two Co, Neptune’s Brewing, Sweetwater Fly Shop, Montana Classic Boat Tours, Skwala Fishing Gear, Outdoor Guide Association, Restoration Engineering and Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures.
