Help us #GiveAHoot about planning for Park County's future
We, at PCEC, believe proactive, comprehensive planning is the key to the success of our community. That’s why community planning is one of our main focuses in 2020. We believe that smart planning through a solution-oriented process will help protect the things about Livingston and Park County we all care about, from community character to housing to the wild landscapes all around.
That’s why we’re encouraging you to show your support for community planning through a donation to PCEC through the Give a Hoot Giving Challenge.
Community planning is an environmental justice issue that affects the health of our community. Planning can help lead to good jobs, diverse housing options and safe ways to get around town. It can help determine who can afford to live in our community, the quality of housing available and the impacts on our wildlands.
We all know good community planning doesn’t just happen and change takes time. We’re here to let you know we’re in it for the long haul, engaging citizens, attending public meetings and letting you know when you need to speak up.
With your help, here are some of our recent successes:
Helping fund a new Growth Policy Update in the city of Livingston, and engaging dozens of citizens in that process.
Assisting Livingston become certified through the Montana Main Street Program, leading to increased grant opportunities and a downtown Master Plan.
Passing a progressive, comprehensive Growth Policy in Park County in 2017 that has led to billboard zoning and a discussion of conflict mitigation zoning to help halt whack-a-mole developments.
Protection of clean air and water through halting developments like gold mines, tire dumps and gravel pits.
Holding dozens of community outreach programs that help educate about the value of neighborhoods, mixed-use developments, active transportation and how community planning can play a role in improving overall public health.
Please support PCEC’s community planning program through a donation to the Park County Community Foundation’s community fundraising challenge. This is an opportunity to have your donation to PCEC matched through the close of Give a Hoot on August 6.
