Let’s celebrate National Trails Day Apart, but Together
Saturday, June 6 is National Trails Day! Normally, we would organize a group clean up, but these times of social distancing challenge us to re-organize differently, more creatively and require more integrity from every individual.
PCEC is proud to join the Livingston Parks and Trails Committee’s call to action to help with a safe and healthy trail clean-up.
Bring a friend, take the family, head out to your favorite place that has helped you during these times, and support us and the Livingston Parks and Trails Committee celebrate National Trails Day and Community Clean Up Week.
If you need trash bags they will be available for pick up outside the Livingston Parks Department’s office at the civic center. If you clean up a City trail, filled bags should be left at the trailhead, near the trash can if it has one, and the city parks staff will pick them up. If you’re cleaning up a trail out of town please find a way to haul and dispose of any trash responsibly, as no pick up will be provided.
Volunteers are reminded to wear gloves, bring a shovel or rake, stay safe and enjoy the trails.
To locate local trails and parks, check out the Livingston Parks & Trails Recreation map that PCEC helped sponsor, they are available at these locations:
· Hard copies are available at the City and County offices in Livingston.
· A downloadable map, and more resources on local parks and trails can be found on the Livingston Parks and Trails Committee’s website.
Let’s celebrate our community and leave a favorite local park or trail a little nicer than how we found it.
