Thinking about our future: Celebrate Earth Week with a donation to PCEC!

I’ve spent a lot of time this year thinking about our community and our future. We’ve been through a lot together. Here is what I have learned: We love our neighbors. We are a community of people that values local connection, local action, and taking care of one another. We went through a pandemic, fires, and floods. To say that was hard is an understatement.

Now let’s talk about the community we are building together. What do we want to build for the next generation? What do we want to build WITH the next generation?

Perhaps it feels unique, perhaps it is an old story. Are we living in tumultuous times? It sure feels that way to me. Perhaps, I am just a sleep deprived mother of three young children. How can I not think about their future? Our future? I have the privilege of watching little ones come in and out of our door, watching them grow, watching them do big things, adult things. I am really proud of PCEC’s investment in the next generation, whether that’s through our work with Park High’s Green Initiative, our summer intern program, our work with AmeriCorps, or our work to make sure that this is a place that people can continue to live.

We value this work, and we hope that you do too.

This week, will you consider a donation to PCEC? Any gift will be matched by the Cinnabar Foundation, up to $15,000. All donations will go to our conservation leadership program to support work with the Green Initiative.

Did you know that PCEC has been investing in High School interns since 2017 when we helped Lily De Young and Aurora Boise launch a recycling program at Park High. This work is only possible because YOU, our members that proudly support a team of folks weaving conservation leaders in our community.

The Green Initiative is holding a Silent Auction all week long to raise money for that summit. You can see that Silent Auction here.
